In other words: Knowing what we feel, Managing our feelings, and Behaving Powerfully
is the key to good mental health!
Doc believes there are three basic areas from which man can be therapeutically reached:
1. Cognitive (thinking both is words and pictures) - by providing new educational material and ways of thinking
about problems.
2. Affective (feelings, both physical and emotional) - by helping man become aware of his feelings and what he
is feeling.
3. Behavioural - by providing new conditioning to remove destructive behaviors acquired through habit.
Doc's approach is based on the concept that the way we think determines the way we feel which determines the way we behave. Doc teaches his clients how to first empower themselves then empower their loved ones by showing them how to:
1. Know what they feel when they feel it (you cannot make decisions about things you are not aware of).
2. Accept what they feel when they feel it (without judging it).
3. Express what I feel in acceptable ways with appropriate communication skills.
Doc's warm, practical, down-to-earth personality and his focus on feelings aid his clients in achieving one or all of their goals.
